WATERDOWN — Mike Malott added another major victory to his UFC run Saturday, knocking out Joaquin Buckley in the Edmonton main event.

The UFC's official result records a knee knockout at 2:32 of the second round at Rogers Place on October 17. It was Malott's fifth consecutive win, with all five coming in Canada.

A local fighter's national stage

The promotion identifies Malott as a Waterdown, Ontario native in its October 13 profile. That hometown connection gives Hamilton-area supporters a local stake in a victory that came far from home.

Following a cautious opening round, Malott caught Buckley on the chin midway through the second. The finish ended a scheduled five-round welterweight contest.

Some initial reporting described the result as a technical knockout. This article follows the UFC's official classification: knockout by knee.

Jasudavicius wins the co-main event

Canada's Jasmine Jasudavicius defeated Erin Blanchfield by unanimous decision, with all three judges scoring it 29–28. Her grappling through the first two rounds supplied the foundation for the win.

The results strengthen both Canadians' positions, but neither establishes a booked title fight or guarantees a particular place in the next rankings.
