KYIV — At least 11 people were killed in a large Russian attack involving missiles and drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Wednesday, according to Reuters.
He said Russia fired 70 missiles and targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Zelenskyy renewed his appeal for air-defence supplies, describing ballistic missiles as a particularly serious challenge.
Earlier Associated Press reporting put the confirmed death toll at eight. It described strikes affecting Kyiv, Pryluky and Kremenchuk, with rescue work continuing. The different figures reflect reports issued at different stages of the morning.
Russia’s Defence Ministry said it had targeted facilities connected to missile and drone production. The AP said it could not independently verify that claim.
The casualty figure remains provisional. The president’s later national total is the basis for this report’s headline; it should not be treated as a final accounting while emergency operations continue.
