PHILADELPHIA — The Senators could not protect a second-period lead Saturday, losing 3–1 as Philadelphia ended its nine-game wait for a first victory of the season.

Porter Martone and Matvei Michkov each supplied a goal and an assist in the October 17 game at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Dan Vladar made 25 saves for the Flyers.

After a scoreless first period, Drake Batherson put Ottawa ahead at 5:55 of the second, finishing a two-on-one rush with Claude Giroux.

Linus Ullmark also made 25 saves. The Senators fell to 6–3–0, while Philadelphia improved to 1–6–3 after entering the game without a win.
