HAMILTON — The city’s new professional women’s hockey team announced its first training-camp roster Wednesday, inviting 31 players to Morgan Firestone Arena ahead of the 2026–27 season.

The group includes 17 forwards, 10 defenders and four goaltenders. Sixteen players already have contracts for the season; 15 played in the PWHL last year, according to the club.

Camp begins November 18, after the women’s world championship in Denmark. Hamilton has scheduled scrimmages against Toronto on November 23 at 5:30 p.m. and Detroit on November 24 at 1:30 p.m., both at the Ancaster arena. Fan-access details remain to be announced.

The regular-season debut is December 5 in Montréal. Hamilton’s first home game follows December 13 at 2 p.m. against Ottawa at TD Coliseum. Single-game tickets go on sale October 9 at 10 a.m. Eastern.

The announcement moves the expansion team from roster construction toward on-ice preparation. A camp invitation does not itself guarantee a place on the final roster.
