HAMILTON — Police are appealing for witnesses and camera footage after a Sunday afternoon collision on Pritchard Road sent three people to hospital, including one driver with serious injuries.

The crash occurred south of Mud Street at approximately 2:20 p.m. on October 4. In an October 6 release, Hamilton Police said a northbound Volkswagen Atlas crossed the centre line and struck a southbound 2017 Ford Explorer.

The Volkswagen’s driver, a 78-year-old Hamilton man, sustained serious injuries. The Ford’s driver, a 75-year-old Hamilton man, and a 66-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate. Motorists who were nearby at the time are being asked to review their dashcam recordings. Residents and businesses should also check surveillance footage.

Anyone with information can contact the Collision Reconstruction Office at 905-546-4753. Anonymous information can be provided to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The police release does not announce charges or establish why the Volkswagen crossed the centre line. The public appeal is aimed at gathering evidence about the collision.
